How to Remap Bad Sectors ?

To remap bad sectors in Windows XP, Vista, or 7 you can do the following:

  • Click on Start menu and select Run.
  • Type chkdsk d:/r/f (If the drive you want to remap is denoted by d).
  • A black window would appear and ask you to schedule a chkdsk on next reboot. Click Yes.
  • Restart the computer
