Siri (Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface) software is an intelligent voice recognition assistant which is Apple iOS compatible application. The application would recognize your voice and act accordingly. It can
perform various web functions from making calls, send voice messages, make appointments, book a table at your favorite restaurant, surfs web for you and even wakes you up and the list goes on. The best thing about Siri software is that it replies you back as if it’s a two way communication going on.
Apple Inc acquired the application in 2010 and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) had funded its research and development. At the moment Siri is integrated in iPhone 4s as a part of iOS 5. The phone has been making news for this particular feature it offers. Reports are also coming that Apple plans to integrate Siri into its Tablets (iPad), with operating system iOS 6. It will support all functionality except phone dialing. Their iPad’s have stronger hardware configurations to support Siri for optimum operations.
Presently Siri software is in beta stage and needs further development to perfect itself. Many experts have reservations for Siri, due to the fact that it does not perform up to the mark. Well there’s much more time to come when this technology of voice recognition becomes perfect and common simultaneously.
