Ubuntu Clonezilla – Some Prerequisites for Installing Clonezilla on Ubuntu Platform:

Ubuntu Clonezilla is an alternative to proprietary software Norton Ghost, Acronis True Image, Rembo, oclonezilla downloadr even RIS / WDS for Windows Server at Microsoft. Like them, it is used to create a backup image of a hard drive or partition, and then it restores the data.
Clonezilla can be used locally or remotely via Samba, NFS and SSH. It is based on partimage, and dd ntfsclone, allowing it to backup / restore file systems as diverse as ext2, ext3, ext4 (the new file system), ReiserFS, XFS, JFS, NTFS and FAT. It is compatible with hard drives partitioned in MS-DOS or GPT.
Versions of Clonezilla:
There are two versions of the Ubuntu Clonezilla software, Clonezilla live and Clonezilla Server Edition (server edition). The latter can manage an entire network for fast and efficient support. These include an example of interaction among these different versions:
A server coupled to DRBL Clonezilla server which itself interacts with the modes of PXE BIOS of computers, or alternatively use the Clonezilla Live CD, which simulates the PXE mode of a computer.

•    Have an Internet connection configured and enabled.
•    Place your mouse in front of the title “Clonezilla”, click left, hold down
•    Right-click in the context menu that appears, click on “Copy”.
•    Start your word processor OpenOffice.org Writer, and, in the menu choose Edit Paste Special Unformatted text and then “OK”.
•    Delete the parts that seem unnecessary for handling in the software.

•    Print, and you’re rid of images and texts that are not useful for what follows.
•    Have an external hard drive formatted as FAT32 or NTFS to receive the image or have sufficient space in one partition of a second internal hard drive, which can be of type FAT32, NTFS, ext3, ext4 (and some other formats).
•    Visit the site of Clonezilla, click on the link “Downloads”, then click the link “Download stable alternative releases (.iso / .zip)” next line “Ubuntu-based” to download the ISO interest.
Note: For an old PC, choosing “Stable (Debian-based)” may be necessary instead of choosing “Alternative (Ubuntu-based)” proposed.
